Love learning this unknown (to me) history of anti capitalist protest movements in Cali, especially the longshoreman in BayArea.

The Soviet Union was not communist or even socialist, It was state capitalism, where the state owned everything, but not the people. Independent labor organizing was crushed.

So much knowledge and so hard to embrace all the history which were so overwhelming movements throughout local, national and worldwide. I can see how this relates to what is happening to date. Thank you Boots, you are a wealth of knowledge and reminding us of the history in which we don't always remember ourselves day to day. Yes we've become silent which will no longer continue. Thank you.

I never thought about it that way - “demonstration of power” vs. “demonstration of thought”

Agree Riva. This is a super useful distinction.

Seeing more and more overtly shaming language used in various racial justice social media groups directed mostly at white people (who definitely have unlearning/learning to do). I have been curious if this is an intentional organizing tactic (because maybe it’s effective?) so interesting to hear boots’ thoughts on needing to stay tethered to the larger vision of collective struggle.

The housing moratoriums are coming to an end and it's predicted that tens of millions of people will be evicted from their homes soon afterward. I had the idea that, much like the Bonus Army, recently evicted people should just start propping up tents in front of their "Representative's" houses, demand to be re-housed, and fight by any means necessary against the police or military who may try to remove them. Do you think this could potentially work if done in mass across the nation?
